Born on November 18, 1978, Gela Potskhishvili began his dance journey in 1984 at the Youth Palace Dance Studio "Merani," led by Professor Rezo Chanishvili. He later trained at the Georgian National Ballet Theater "Metekhi" under the guidance of Gelodi Potskhishvili, a distinguished supporter of Georgian arts.
In 1995, Gela joined Dance Theater "Metekhi" as an actor-dancer and has been a solo dancer and choreographer since 1996. He graduated from the Choreographic School of the Georgian National Ballet Theater in 1999, specializing in staging choreography.
Gela has performed globally, earning numerous prestigious dance awards. He was named the best dancer of 2000 by the Art Council of the Choreography of Georgia and awarded the Order of Honour by the President of Georgia in 2012. The National Academy of Georgia honored him as an academician the same year.
In 2006, Gela founded the Dance Academy, serving as its director and art director. He established the Royal National Ballet of Georgia in 2008, where he continues to be the art director and leading ballet master. Since 1984, Gela has devoted his career to advancing Georgian culture.
